Design Team

The Design Team collaborates with project teams, contributing design expertise, knowledge and fresh ideas to help turn technical challenges into thoughtful and engaging solutions. Its products aim to improve the organisation and visual comfort of the lab by enhancing everyday tasks and interactions.

The Waddl.3 Wire Gripper and Jumper Wire Holder improve wire organisation on our workshop pegboard. The Wire Gripper securely holds wire from spools in place, preventing tangles, with a design inspired by our mascot Waddl.3. The magnetic Jumper Wire Holder gives loose jumper wires a dedicated, easy-to-reach home.

A compact desk organiser and universal tool mount maximise usable benchtop area. The organiser features a removable component storage container and retractable keyboard mounts, keeping unused items off the desk. The tool mount attaches to metal pegboards, using an automatic opening and closing mechanism to safely hold active project tools.

A multi-compartment desk tray for organising small parts and tools, with dedicated sections for fasteners, electronics components, writing instruments and frequently used accessories. It reduces clutter, minimises time spent searching and supports smoother task transitions through the workday.

The Waddl.3 Blind Box brings our beloved robotic penguin mascot to life as a collectible figure, increasing awareness of Waddl.3 across the team and beyond. Each version reflects a different aspect of the team, from weekly working bees to fun projects.
