AI lab assistant

MARTIN is an intelligent voice or text assistant that answers questions about the Monash Automation team, projects and OHS protocols, drawing on internal lab documentation to help members with project ideation and technical troubleshooting. It integrates directly with lab infrastructure, working with the inventory management system for consumable and asset tracking, and monitoring, starting, pausing or stopping 3D print jobs.

AI personalities research

As a software Final Year Project, MARTIN investigates how distinct AI personalities influence trust, engagement and learning behaviour. In a structured user study, participants complete routine operations and prescribed tasks, such as executing print jobs and querying knowledge bases, across three different assistant personalities, so that their impact on these dimensions can be evaluated.
